Schedule Synopsis:

August 4

Students will begin in the Garaventa Center for registration and a brief introduction.
Students will go to classrooms to receive their netbooks and begin training. They will learn how to care for their netbooks, login to the Carondelet network and how to use PowerSchool, Moodle, Google Docs, and library resources. They will learn what to do if their netbook is lost, stolen, broken, or not working properly.

August 5

Students will begin in their assigned classrooms.
Students will begin with a Q&A about the previous day and any general questions. They will learn how to store files and expected file naming conventions. The will learn how and where to print files. Students will be shown MS Office 10, Auditicy, Paint.net, VideoSpin, the web cam and microphone. Students will learn how to use SmartSync, our classroom management software. They will learn troubleshooting techniques and be introduced the Carondelet IT staff.

August 6

Parents and Students will meet in the Garaventa Center. Students will bring their laptops.
Nancy Libby, principal of Carondelet, will open with a general informational session for both parents and students. She and the Carondelet IT staff will discuss with parents and students netbook responsibility and liability. We will discuss proper use and safety issues. We will answer any questions.

Students will then be given a test, administered by their parents, showing all they have learned during the previous two days. The completed tests will be turned in to the Carondelet IT staff. Any additional questions will be answered at that time.
