We hope all of our school families had a blessed Easter and wonderful Spring Break! We have had a great 2009-2010 year with many spiritual, educational and parent/school bonding events with several more right around the corner and a full year of activities for 2010-2011!
First, we would like to acknowledge and give our sincere thanks to our Board Members and Committee Heads who will be “graduating” this year. Many thanks to Jill Chin, our Board Secretary, for her incredible organizational and communication skills; Mickey O’Regan and Debbie Clawson, our Hospitality Committee Heads, for their expertise in organizing and ensuring the success of the many, many events the Parents’ Association Board sponsors; and Judy Janney, our Crab Feed Committee Head, for her dedication and unending support to our annual Crab Feed over the years. The Board, and events it sponsors, cannot be successful without your continued commitment and dedication, and we all thank you, Jill, Mickey, Debbie and Judy, for your incredible service to CHS!!
We also would like to welcome the new Board Members/Committee Heads to our Board for the 2010-2011 school year. Christine Hohenstein will be our Board Secretary and Scholarship Committee Head and Diana Geron will be our Co-Committee Head for Hospitality. Thank you Christine and Diana for your commitment to next year! We are very happy to have you on board!
We are in the process of establishing a joint sponsorship with the Carondelet Alumnae Association for our annual Crab Feed which is tentatively scheduled for March 5, 2011. We are very excited to work jointly with this fantastic Board to create an amazing evening for all and are looking for dedicated parents to be a part of this fun-filled committee. Please let us know if you would like to participate in this committee!
Father/Daughter Liturgy
Many thanks go out to Rosanna Gastello and Carol Padilla for chairing a wonderful Father/Daughter Liturgy on March 7! Our daughters were able to share some special time bonding with the most important men in their lives during a spirit filled morning.

Senior Grad Night – Sunday May 23, 2010
Senior Parents – Did you know we are doing online registration for Grad Night this year? To register your daughter, go to the CHS website (www.carondelet.net) , click on STUDENTS at the top of the page, then click on GRAD NIGHT 2010 INFORMATION down the left side. You will automatically be redirected to DLS website where you will find the Grad Night Contract and the link to register online. After you have completed the form online, you should then download and print the Grad Night contract. You need to read and complete the contract and turn it into the CHS office. Please include a check for payment for the Grad Night fee or a note requesting need for financial based scholarship (fee waiver). This information is confidential.
Please make sure to check the website for any updates to Grad Night. If you have any questions regarding Grad Night, please email Dorothy Kennon or Luisa Carnathan at chs.dlsgradnight2010@gmail.com .
YOU CAN EARN PIP HOURS FOR NEXT YEAR!
The Grad Night Committee needs volunteers to help with Grad Night. It is a fun all-night party that both CHS and DLS hold for the graduating students. Grad Night this year is Sunday, May 23 to Monday, May 24. The Grad Night Event will be held in another town (secret location) about 30 miles from CHS. We will let you know the location in a separate e-mail. We are in need of volunteers to work the late shift 12 a.m. to 3:30 a.m.; you can earn double PIP hours if you volunteer for this shift.

For the Class that Sets the Trend, College Cash for 2010!
Senior College Essay Scholarship Flyers are being posted in the College Counselor's Office and in the Senior Hall during of April. There will be four awards of $250 each. Please make sure to have your senior daughter check this out! The deadline has been extended to May 3, 2010, and this is all your daughter needs to do:
Write a 500 word essay on: How your experience at CHS has helped you to become "all of which woman is capable". Submit essays in Word or PDF format to 2010chsessay@gmail.com by May 3, 2010. Please include your full name in the subject line of the email.
Winners will be announced at the May Awards Ceremony.
Save the Date – Welcome Back BBQ – Sunday August 15, 2010
It’s not too early to begin thinking about next year! Please support our annual Welcome Back BBQ. There are volunteer opportunities available for set up,decorations, clean up, food prep, food service, cookie donations, assorted food donations, a bar service, and we are in need of a new chair for the 2011 – 2012 school year. So think about getting your PIP hours completed early for next year. Please email Trisha Fernandes at Fernandes@astound.net to sign up or for more information.
