We are happy to announce that after a national search that generated more than 100 excellent applicants from throughout the country, Caitlin Lawson, an '05 alumna of Carondelet High School, has been named our new Director of Athletics. Caitlin brings an intelligence, passion and enthusiasm for athletics, education and the tradition of Carondelet. When she was a student at Carondelet, Caitlin proved to be outstanding academically as well as athletically, and was heavily recruited by various colleges to play volleyball. In her professional life, she has worked as both a teacher and an administrator. She comes to us from Bentley School in Oakland, where she most recently served as the K-8 Athletic Director. Prior to Bentley, she worked at Archer School for Girls in Los Angeles as the Assistant Athletic Director. Caitlin holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science/Journalism from Pepperdine University and a Master's degree in Teaching/Social Studies from the University of Southern California. Caitlin will join our CHS community on June 22.

In addition to Caitlin, we are incredibly fortunate to welcome Kellie Elliott to our Athletic Department team in an advisory capacity. Kellie has a uniquely broad and deep background that will bring invaluable experience as we position our Athletic Program for our next 50 years. Kellie has well over 20 years of experience in professional, collegiate and Olympic management positions, providing strategic direction and support for high-profile Athletic programs. She has served as Chief Operating Officer of the Alumni Association for UC Berkeley; Director of University Conferences & Events Division for Yale University; Deputy Director of Athletics for Florida State University; Deputy Director of Athletics/Internal Operations for San Jose State University; and Project Manager for the Department of Athletics at Stanford University. In addition, she worked as Regional Operations Manager for the 1996 Summer Olympic Games, Senior General Manager for the 2002 Winter Olympic Games, and President of the NBA's Huntsville's (NBDL) National Basketball Development League team. Kellie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Stanford University and is a graduate of the University of Michigan's Sports Management Institute. She is already on board conducting an Athletics Department audit and will be helping to develop an Athletics Strategic Plan that will include essential market data and innovative opportunities to guide our Athletics priorities and programming.

Finally, we thank Gleam Green, our current Athletic Director, who is retiring this year after many years of service to Carondelet. We appreciate all she has done for our school and our athletes over the years, and we are glad that she is able to leave the successful Athletics Department she has overseen in the capable hands of Caitlin and Kellie.

We hope that you will join us in welcoming Caitlin and Kellie to Carondelet, and in wishing Gleam well in her retirement.
