• 2015-2016 Department Chairs

    Beginning with the 2015-16 academic year, our department chairs will be collaboratively engaged in leading curriculum innovation and teacher development to create a vision for their departments that inspires excellence in meeting the needs of our students. Their work will include researching best practices, visiting schools demonstrating excellence, and staying abreast of trends and opportunities in Catholic and women's education as part of a departmental audit and assessment.

    The new chairs have been provided with more time and flexibility to work within their departments and across all departments to facilitate successful student outcomes, and to focus on teacher observation and professional development. They will also gather and analyze data to prepare for our re-accreditation, and help ensure a dynamic educational environment that is meeting the needs of our students now and in the future.

    I am so pleased that after a regional search we found the best candidates from within our very own Carondelet faculty. I am proud that we have a strong group of educators who are so committed to the success of our students and our school and who are eager to lead the way for our exciting and dynamic future.

  • Summer Session Offered at Carondelet

    New this year, Carondelet is offering summer session for students who want to remediate a not-so-stellar grade prior to returning in the fall.

    Dates: June 15 - July 17
    (with Friday, July 3, as a holiday)


    Scheduled Meeting Times:
    Session One: 8:15 a.m - 10:30 a.m.
    Break: 10:30 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. (bring your own snacks and drinks)
    Session Two: 10:45 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

    Remediation Course Offerings*:
    Algebra 1
    Biology
    English 1
    Geometry
    Physics 9
    World Civilizations
    U.S. History

    *course offerings will be determined by the number of students who sign up for summer session. A course may be cancelled due to low registration and/or staffing availability.

  • Countdown to Finals!

    Is your daughter looking for additional academic support? Is her current game plan no longer working for her?

    If so, here are some tips that could help.

    She could:

    1. Check in with her teacher and ask “What’s one thing I can do to better learn the material for your class?” See specific document in study skills moodle.
    2. Enroll in the study skill class available on moodle which will provide her with access to a variety of helpful documents.
    3. Drop in or make an appointment to see her academic advisor:

  • Renewing Our Mission

    This past September, as part of Carondelet's strategic planning process, Carondelet's Leadership Team and Board of Directors assembled a group to examine how to better integrate Carondelet's mission into everything we do. This group, comprised of Sisters, board members and faculty and staff, quickly realized that in order for our mission to come to life and be actionable, it would first need to be refreshed to be simplified and easier to remember. Thus, the project of mission integration took a bit of a different path, starting not at integration but instead by looking at reworking the language in the mission itself. The group's aim was to reinforce the original spirit of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet while making the mission clear, actionable and easy to remember, so that it could provide direction for all we do as we take our school forward.

    After much prayerful reflection and months of work to get the language and feel "just right," the group presented the renewed mission to the Board and to the Sisters of the L.A. Province for final approval - which was given at the end of March.

    Carondelet High School inspires excellence by preparing young women to live with heart, faith and courage in the Catholic tradition and spirit of the Sisters of St. Joseph. (MISSION STATEMENT 2015)

    Date: Monday, June 15th thru Friday, June 19th
    Time: 8:45 am (check-in) - 12:00 pm (pick-up)
    Location: Monsignor Cardelli Gym - 440 La Gonda Way, Danville
    Registration Fee: $80 each camper (for the first two), $40 for the
    third and FREE for four of more campers
    Grade/Age Requirement: 4 years old to 5th grade

  • Are You an "All Cleared" Volunteer?

    1. Have you completed a livescan (fingerprinting) test for CHS?
    2. Do you have a current TB test on file with CHS?
    3. Have you completed the "Shield the Vulnerable" 90 minute on-line course and provided Carondelet with the certificate?

    If you answered "YES" to these questions, you would be considered an "all cleared" volunteer.

    All parents who will be volunteering at any event where students are present are required to become an "all cleared" volunteer. You will find a list of the requirements here or on the Parent Volunteer page of the CHS website. These requirements must be fulfilled prior to the beginning of school.
