Parent Volunteer Requirements

All parents who serve as volunteers with access to students are required to comply with the following Diocesan Requirements.

Please drop off all materials to the Main Office, email them to Angela Ricci aricci@carondeleths.org or volunteer@carondeleths.org or put them in the mail attn: Angela Ricci.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Carondelet High School. We appreciate your assistance and hope you will find your role satisfying. The following items are required in order to volunteer:

1.  The Safe Environment Program requires that any volunteer having contact with CHS students get a fingerprint clearance – this serves as a protection for both you and the students. Fill out the attached LiveScan form (found here) and take it to a nearby location listed here for clearance.  You will be responsible for the cost of the fingerprinting. Clearance will be submitted electronically to CHS.

NOTE:  If you have done fingerprinting through the Oakland Diocese, you still have to complete this for Carondelet.

2.  The California Health and Safety Code (§121545) requires all school district volunteers to be examined and found free of communicable tuberculosis once every 4 years. CHS is required to keep an up-to-date certificate on file for each volunteer. Note that TB testing is done at the volunteer’s own expense. Details listed here
3.  Volunteers are required to take a Child Abuse awareness training course in compliance with the Safe Environment Program at the Diocese of Oakland. If you have already taken this training within the last few years, you can use that certificate for volunteering at Carondelet. If not, you can access the on-line training by going to http://shieldthevulnerable.org/ and Click on “Catholic Dioceses”, then select the “Oakland Diocese”, and find “Carondelet High School”. Select “ethical reporter”.   Take the first class "Recognize and Report Child Abuse."  You can self-register; take the training, which takes about 90 minutes.  Remember to print the certificate at the end of the training. You can scan and send it to (volunteer@carondeleths.org).
4.  If you are driving on behalf of CHS, please make sure to attach a valid Driver’s License and current auto insurance information. These copies will need to be resubmitted upon expiration.

While you are volunteering at CHS, you are responsible for your own safety. Workers compensation benefits are not provided to volunteers.

Feel free to call Angela Ricci with any questions you may have at (925) 686-5353 x177 or by email: aricci@carondeleths.org. You may leave the paperwork in the Main Office or send it via mail to:
