Model UN

Model United Nations researches major world issues from the perspective of countries other than the United States and then attends mock United Nations conferences in which students give speeches, negotiate and draft resolutions, and generally try and resolve world problems. The issues range from world hunger to nuclear proliferation and the sex slave trade. The team competes in the Contra Costa County competition and has attended national competitions at Berkeley and in New York City.


Meeting Time & Location

Meets Wednesdays at Lunch in Room 23 and as needed depending on competition dates.

Criteria

An interest in world issues and/or debating/negotiating/learning about those issues.
